Le produit est constitué, pour chaque Station Virtuelle, par la série temporelle de hauteur d'eau, exprimée par rapport au géoïde (EGM96), et à raison d'une hauteur "moyenne" par passage (i.e. tous les 10 jours au mieux pour Topex/Poseidon). Plus de détails...
Format
Le format choisi pour le produit est le NetCDF, largement répandu dans la communauté des geosciences.
Une description extensive de ce format ainsi que divers utilitaires de visualisation/manipulation/lecture sont présentés sur le site d'Unidata.
Schématiquement, chaque fichier est composé d'un en-tête, qui reprend les caractéristiques de chaque station virtuelle ("attributs"), et d'un corps de fichier contenant les données de hauteur d'eau proprement dites. Voir l'exemple ...
Nomenclature
A chaque station virtuelle est associé un identifiant unique de la forme BBB_SS_TTTT_λλλλλλE/W_φφφφφN/S , respectant la nomenclature suivante:
- BBB : code bassin (ex: AMZ pour l'Amazone)
- SS : nom du satellite (ex: TP pour Topex/Poseidon)
- TTTT : numéro de trace (ex: 0063 pour la trace ascendante TP à proximité de Manaus)
- λλλλλλ : Longitude du milieu du rectangle d'extraction, en degré décimaux précision 3 chiffres après la virgule (ex: 059500 pour 59,500°)
- E ou W : Longitude EST ou WEST
- φφφφφ : Latitude du milieu du rectangle d'extraction, en degrés décimaux, précision 3 chiffres après la virgule (ex: 03175 pour 3,175°)
- N ou S : Latitude NORD ou SUD
A ce préfixe s'ajoute l'extension ".nc" , caractéristique du format NetCDF.
Exemple: Le produit correspondant à la station virtuelle sur le Rio Negro à proximité de Manaus (Amazonie) porte l'identifiant AMZ_TP_0063_059500W_03175S.nc
