Main objectives
CASH is a project funded by the program Réseau Terre et Espace. This program, driven by the French Research Ministry, promotes the development of innovative services based on the use of data acquired from space.
In that context, the CASH project aims at demonstrating the contribution of space altimetry to the global monitoring of water ressources.
The project is articulated around 2 axes:
- The production of a water level data base over eight large river basins worldwide.
These water levels are obtained over water bodies located at the intersections between the Topex/Poseidon ground tracks and the rivers ("virtual" stations).
- The definition of a set of altimetry-derived hydrological data over water bodies. The relevance of these data will be evaluated by different users according to their respective needs.
